Now that it is officially 🍁autumn🎃 I wanted to put together a fun, "spooky szn" watch list paired with strains that would accentuate your viewing pleasure!

👻 Is it really spooky season if you haven't watched Casper on ABC Family (Freeform)?? I paired this movie with The White, a Durban Poison hybrid that is usually high in THC, brings on the giggles and makes holiday decorating or crafting a lot of fun.
⚰️For the Addams Family I recommend Violeta, the most goth strain that I've ever seen! Violetta is relaxing with dark purple and black buds that when treated right are covered in trichomes. In appearance and affect she would fit right in with the Addams Family.
🎈Stephen King's "It" is still one of the scariest movies ever made in my opinion, so it makes sense to pair it with Pennywise, a high CBD, sedative strain who's parents are Harley-Quinn (clown) and Jack the Ripper (Serial Killer), this affect, name and genetics makes this strain a perfect fit for viewing this classic horror movie.
💀The Scream movies are such a time capsule of everyone who was simultaneously hot and cool in the 90's/2000's, watching these movies can still give you a bit of a fright but a LOT of nostalgia. So I paired it with Ghost 👻 OG, which gives a nice boost of euphoria with it's Limonene content and helps quell anxieties. (This is a great date night strain too!)
☪️I don't know about you but I have to watch Hocus Pocus at least once a week until Halloween and I think Tangie is the perfect strain to pair with this movie because it is so euphoric that it can induce bouts of laughter that turn into giggle fits. Not to mention, these orange fluffy buds look like the weed version of Winnefred Sanderson.
🕷️ I paired The Craft with Durban Poison because that is the strain I go to when I am running around in the woods or at the beach while doing witchcraft. It gives you focus with minimal distractions, it's great for hiking, beach days or spell writing. Perfect for someone who has The Craft on while they are decorating for Halloween or making costumes.
🔮Practical Magic and Mount Hood Magic…My favorite movie and my favorite strain, both pick me up when I am feeling blue. Mount hood magic is a strain that was hybridized for the Pacific Northwest and seasonal depression, and practical magic the movie takes place in New England but parts of it were filmed in Washington here in the Pacific Northwest. So the strain I feel like really fits in with the vibe of the movie, very uplifting but still allows you to feel your feelings and believe in magic.
📗Picture it… You, your bestie, The Gosebumps movies, a bowl of Slimer OG and a TON of snacks. The Goosebumps movies are fun for people who have too much anxiety for horror movies but want to get into the Halloween nostalgia of their youth. And Slimer OG is a giggly and fun strain that leaves you with some munchies and a lot of distraction from anxiety. Perfect for watching kids chase around a ventriloquist's dummy for about an hour and a half.
🖤Elvira Mistress of the Dark is vampy, funny, and all around goofy and I paired it with Hot Donna, a strain that has a very stoney feel, with an amazing body high that leans into fits of laughter. An evening with Elvira and Hot Donna sounds like a 70’s dream!
Most of these movies are streaming but if you have a fun, local video rental store like Movie Madness here in Portland I would recommend supporting a cool local business when you try these movie pairings!
