Just a reminder..not all hemp is equal.
I ask a lot of questions before I work with a brand. I want to know how people are treated who are growing and harvesting the hemp. Agriculture based businesses unfortunately have a history of abusing employees, so We should care how people are treated on farms that grow our food and medicine. I get approached by brands almost every day that I don't end up working with because they are not making a product that suits my standards. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't strive for ethical treatment of employees, and clean products that we use as medicine.
So when you are looking to purchase CBD ask yourself... Is this just a bacon car air freshener or was their thought put into this from soil to me ingesting it?
CBD is a highly unregulated market, which means there are a lot of products out there that make a lot of claims.
And you as a consumer spend a lot of money on these products. For example if you're buying a bottle of tincture every month that is anywhere from $75 to $100, that's a lot of money every year that you are investing in a small business and your health. So you should make sure that's a sound investment.
If a CBD brand is putting extra care into their product they will let you know. From testing for heavy metals in the groundwater to fair treatment of employees to packaging that makes it easy for you to consume their product with test results and measurements of dosage. These are just a few things we should be checking on before we make these commitments to a CBD brand.
