How to sue your abusive workplace from someone who did it successfully….

I get a lot of messages from people every day who are thinking of suing an abusive workplace, and for the most part I give everyone the same advice. It is advice that I wish I had known going into my lawsuit. (I am so excited to cheer you all on, but sometimes hearing your stories of abuse in my DMs can be triggering to me.)

So I decided to make this infographic, to hopefully empower and guide you all in the right direction while pursuing justice.

1. Collect your evidence. Screenshot and copy all of the emails, texts and social media posts that might help you prove your case.

2. Write everything down. Telling the story of how you were abused over and over again while you look for a lawyer can be triggering, write it down once then copy and paste.

3. Look for resources for lawyers and for your mental health. If your case involves sexual harassment or assault I definitely recommend reaching out to @timesupnow for lawyer recommendations.

4. Find the right type of lawyer. A mistake that Mind Rite made was using a cannabis lawyer instead of an employment lawyer. Your lawsuit will be a matter of employment so you want someone who is well versed in employment law. And if you don't have the funds to pay for a lawyer up front find a lawyer who works on contingency. That means they don't get paid until you win.

5. Negotiating a settlement. This is specific to a lawsuit against a cannabis business... Cannabis businesses cannot declare bankruptcy. This could greatly impact how your lawyer negotiates your settlement.

6. If you do go to court make sure that you have means of self-soothing. Talking about your abuse in a public forum can be so triggering, and you are not allowed to show emotion in the courtroom or in public for the duration of your trial.

So make sure you have a support system in place and a therapist on call.

Really make sure to take extra care of yourself because this process can be exhausting.

7. If your case involves sexual harassment, and/or your disability not being accommodated you can use my case to uphold your case in court.

And most of all, good luck!

New year new Cannabis regulations for 2022!

New year, new Cannabis regulations!
Cannabis is a growing industry, and as recreational and medical programs progress they get feedback from consumers and cultivators that impact regulation.

2022 should be great for Oregon consumers and here's why...

Now you will be able to purchase up to 2 oz of flower per dispensary per day compared to the 1 oz you have been limited to previously.

Edibles dosage limitations are jumping up from 50 mg per package to 100 mg per package.

Both of these changes will allow Oregon consumers to buy a bit more in bulk. This could mean less packaging which is better for the environment and would allow consumers to get discounts to encourage buying in bulk to help with the excess of cannabis that we have had since legalization.

At home cannabis delivery will now be able to travel over county lines. So more delivery services can expand their service area. This is a great addition with covid still being an issue.

The THC amount you are allowed to have in hemp will now be up to 20 mg per container.

And something I'm excited about, there is even more infrastructure in place to make it easy to export cannabis from Oregon once national legalization is in place.
I have said this before, once we have national legalization a lot of states will be getting their cannabis from Oregon the same way you get orange juice from Florida. We have produced an excess of cannabis every year of legalization because the terroir allows for incredible outdoor cannabis growth. This could be really beneficial to states like Arizona or Nevada that have extreme heat and have to spend so much money on indoor growing facilities. In Oregon we have all of the elements for cannabis to grow easily and to be lush, in Nevada you are probably going to spend a million dollars a month on water, air conditioning and lights to grow cannabis. So it just makes more sense for other states to buy our excess. It would cost less and be better for the environment. This would also create more jobs around state to state distribution.
Whenever we get national legalization make sure you're looking for that "Made in Oregon" sticker!
Which of these changes are you most excited about??
